Colchester Rock Oysters

We've been buying oysters for 23 years now, and we still haven't found a rock oyster better than the Colchester.

They're always heavy and tightly closed and have a fabulous flavour.. more heading toward the fin de clare than the really creamy oysters from Cornwall.

If there's another oyster you'd prefer including the Fin De Clare, then please just ask the sales team.

Cornish Cod

We regularly buy small codling and medium sized cod in Cornwall where the quality is superior to the small Scottish.

However Cornwall can be very expensive and short of cod at times, so we also buy large cod fillets from Peterhead in Scotland so that we can meet demand.

Cornish dayboat Haddock

Absolutely superb haddock, landed in Cornwall every day.

We buy all sizes from 500gm -2kg fish. A 600-800gm fish while yield 2 x 170gm main course portions.

You will not find finer haddocks anywhere.. guaranteed !

Cornish handline-caught Mackerel

Absolutely amazing quality, straight off the boat handline-caught Mackerel from Cornwall.

We have medium to large fish, so basically portion-sized, or a single fillet would be just right for a starter.

Cornish Pollack is in high season at the moment and there's plenty about. We're buying stunning large fish 2kg + which yield those lovely chunky portions.

Cornish Red Gurnard

Ever increasing in popularity and deliciously tasty.. gurnards are definitely on the up.

We generally buy 500gm-1kg fish giving 2 fillet portions per fish, or the bigger 1kg + which will give you that extra depth and chunkiness.

Cornish Red Mullet

Dayboat-caught from Looe and Plymouth, we normally buy the 200-400gm size although all other sizes are available to order.

A beautiful fish, especially suitable for a single fillet as a starter.

John Dory (portion sized)

These stunning fish range between 250 and 500gm and make a good portion sized main course, or serve a single fillet as a starter. Hopefully available all week, subject to weather of course !

Loch Duart Salmon

As well as standard farmed salmon, we also stock the superb salmon from the Loch Duart Sustainable Salmon Company.

These fish generally range between 3 and 4kg and are probably the best farmed salmon we have seen, giving the organic a good run for their money too !
