Sustainable fishing and best practice
New Wave has a firm policy to buy seafood from well-managed, sustainable sources in order to protect our oceans for the future.
Committed to protecting the marine environment
Wherever possible we buy fish that are line-caught by small dayboats to minimize the impact on the marine environment.
We are Chain of Custody certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). Please contact us to find out which of our products are MSC certified
This is a global organisation working with fisheries, seafood companies, scientists, conservation groups and the public to promote the best environmental choice in seafood. In accordance with our certificate, we maintain a chain of custody traceability from the fishing vessel through to the wild fish being delivered to your premises.
''Le Manoir and New Wave share a strong commitment to responsible fishing and also to sustainability, through our mutual involvement with the Marine Stewardship Council. The majority of their fish is from the South-West of England and each aspect of the supply chain is scrutinised so they can offer clear information, confidently assuring the fish caught is from a sustainable source.''
We also support the Responsible Fishing Scheme (RFS), an independent certification scheme designed to promote and recognise good practice in the fishing industry, and to ensure effective conservation and management of the living aquatic resources. Wherever possible, we give priority to vessels committed to the scheme.
Other environmental issues
New Wave Seafood is committed to reducing our environmental impact, so much so, that an integral part of our business strategy is to continue to make improvements in this area.
We operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and we will strive to use relevant and environmental best practices in all we do. Where we can we encourage our employees, supplier and business associates to do the same. Not only is this sound commercial sense for all; it is also a matter of delivering on our duty of care towards future generations.
